Scenting snuggles & enjoying the late summer breeze

Market Day

Why do I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with the high prices, the earthquakes and so forth… BECAUSEI can still get fresh delish strawberries from the market in September!  (the basket of berries didn’t make it home for the Market Day picture… YUM!)

Fall’s coming! We have sweet potatoes!

Sweet Potatoes

Taro leaves – Patrade anyone?

DKM’s Market Score:

  • Sweet Basil (Pesto!),
  • Purple Basil (Salads!),
  • Chard (Yes, I spoil the buns),
  • Kolhrabi (Mint Kolhrabi Salad!),
  • Cantaloupe (just yum!),
  • Ginger (not Mary Ann)
  • and the best fresh apple juice from Apple Hill.

  5. We still have great fruit here in WA, we have earthquakes too, but not the high prices. I have found the watermellon and cantaloupe not as flavorfull as they should be. I actually threw out a cantaloupe and 2 mini mellons this summer.

  14. We have pretty good FM here in Sta. Cruz, but no Taro leaves ! ! Tyler and Sydney are VERY spoiled, I buy them Organic (of course) Spring Mix from Happy Boy Farms. plus parsley and, currently, Dill (plus they get stuff form the garden). Spoiled stuffed buns. Gorgeous snuggle and Sophia. Love the way you are providing a sound track, lots of fun.

  15. Naughty Fiona Bun to tell Pink to eat the baseboard (he’s done it–but apparently the baseboard across the room tastes better). LOL. What’s a jujube? Like the things in the box that stick your teeth together?

  17. The fruits and veggies from the market look great. This wonderful weather would be great for open-air markets, wish they were on Sunday instead of Saturday.

  22. Sophia scent on a snuggle is a must. Mum says those strawberries look lovely. Most of the UK ones weren’t very sweet this year, probably due to lack of sun.

  23. sob!!!!! All of our fresh fruits and vegetables are dead now because of the summer heat! Mom said the peaches were the best when she was in LA last month.
