Aaah! The smell of Roses! It takes me right back to childhood.
At my primary school there were several raised flower beds in the playground – and they were always full of Roses. The perfume was glorious on a hot summer’s day. My friends and I used to gather the fallen petals, in the silly belief that if we soaked them in water they would turn into perfume.
Then later, afte soaking them for days, the water would go brown and scanky – and we’d be disappointed. But we’d still do the same again the next summer – convinced it would work this time. The optimisim of youth, huh?
That’s a beautiful Rose in your photo.

What a perfect yellow rose. Ours are still not blooming. Who knows what will happen this summer with that long long stretch of really hard rain and cold we had through June?
