Weekend Herb Blogging

My first crack at Weekend Herb Blogging – so be kind. This week it’s being hosted by Wandering Chopsticks. I was at the market yesterday and picked up some lovely greens, however I was in the mood for some crunch. So I made Garbanzo Bean Salad to go on top.  I love the combo of garbanzos and the celery together.

Banzo Bean Salad

Can of garbanzos
Dice of 2-3 celery hearts
Spring onions or shallot minced
Garlic glove minced
Italian parsley
Juice of a lemon
A drizzle of olive oil
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Champagn vinegar, if needed
Salt and pepper

Eat right out of the bowl, dump on some greens or serve over toasted Italian bread. It’s addicting.

Make extra for an afternoon snack!

You are sharing with the organic garbage disposals… are you not!

Do I hear the banana chip bag?

  8. This is another wonderful “easy like Sunday morning post” – the first thing I noticed was the photographic header – the wild flowers are just gorgeous. Then later in the photos I saw them again at the market. I love wild flowers best of all. Bluebells are my absolute favourites.

The fruits look just delicous too – life is a bowl of cherries huh? Mouth watering.

And of course the essential bonus: Diva Kitty looking adorable as usual.

Today, I had a moment of epiphany, a flash of realisation! It suddenly dawned on me just why I love this blog so much.

It is because it has a sort of prelapsarian innocence. It is charming and sweet – and portrays a beautiful garden of Eden with lovely cuddly animals wandering about. It refreshes my spirits when I visit …. what better reason could there be to read it.

    :-) Thank you!

  21. Is there ever a time when it’s not perfect for a nap?!

We were thinking of you and your person when we went to Pike’s Place last week because it had a lot of the same stuff. Our cherries aren’t quite so nice yet, nor the peaches but they are getting there.
