oh and DKM – her food, crochet, knitting and stuff

Yes, as a cat I’m a carnivore

But even I can see this is just wrong (click here).  Yes humans, they are feeding this to your children and worse to us. Please be sure you’re feeding us and your families humanely slaughtered beef. It may cost a bit more a pound, but this has to stop. Now.

  1. Those films are horrendous. It made mum cry to think that people can treat living animals in this way. she only ever buys free range or organic.

  4. Yes. My Man already a few days ago watched it and hooted and hollerd. And he sent that link to all the humans he knows who eats meat. The Investor wouldn’t even watch. I don’t like vishus deers personally, but I hope before they end up on my food plate they are treated better than these cows. I bet so because they are organic.

  5. Oh gosh that was hard to watch. We sent the e-mail! My Mommie is very glad to be a vegetarian. Even though I am a meat-eating kitty, I surely hope the animals used to make my foods are treated humanely.

  8. That whole business is shamefully sorry. Many thanks for stopping by my blog while I’ve been in surgery, recovery, and diagnosis. It’s encouraging to have such good friends during this difficult time. Purrs!

Oh NO!!!! That is awful!!! Our dad saw this a few days ago. We really like the veggie stock recipe. Dad is thinking about becoming more vegetarian and eating less meat. Mom is thinking about it, but not seriously committed at the moment. But the video is a bit more food for veggie thought.

  12. Mom spent most of her childhood, early teen years on a dairy farm owned by her grampa and gramma, if grampa had seen anyone treat a cow (or any other animal) like that they would have gotten the same treatment. You can be practical (all farmers have to be) and still not be cruel! The average age of their heifers when slaughtered was 13, which is way above the “norm”. They were “done in”, as grampa called it, at a neighbors farm and grampa always watched because 1) he wanted to be sure it was done as humanely as possible and 2) he figured he owed it to the beast that made his lively hood to watch the final moment. The last cow they had lived to be 22 years old and was buried on the farm…our mom and 6 of her cousins now own the farm but one lives there and runs it as a sheep ranch! Mom and dad will only eat free range or organic meat of any kind now because mom knows how some are treated, but she still eats meat a couple times a month!

  14. I saw this on the news and was horrified that anyone could treat helpless animals that way. It is cruel. What kind of species are we to things like this. It is sad and depressing. ~Jane

  15. Hey, Sophia,

Thanks for stopping by and letting us know you posted on this subject too. We are behind in visiting blogs and have quite a bit of catching up to do.

We all eat meat and if we didn’t need it to survive, we’d probably become vegetarians too. We don’t know any cows personally, but that is no way to treat any animal. We wanted to post on this earlier but Jan’s been sick and hogging the computer. And then yesterday, she took shelter photos and worked right through to 10 PM, so we’ve been underprivileged in the computer dept lately.
