DKM Nosh

This week were cooking from Fresh from the Farmer’s Market - Winter

This Week's Book

Eeek - Onion revolt!

Eeek - Onion revolt

Soaking the babies - The cookbook calls for limas, but who could resist these cute little Red Nightfalls from Rancho Gordo.
Note: Walk, Run or Hop to your farmers market to get beans from Rancho Gordo - they are the very best. They do also have an online store.

Soak well little babies!

Hanging out in the slow cooker - come back in 6 hours!

Sleep well for 6 hours

Yum!

Garlic beans

Garlic Beans

3 cups dried beans (I used Red Nightingales) soaked overnight in cold water, then drained
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
4 cups veggie stock
1 fresh bouquet garni (fresh bay leaves, sprigs of thyme, parsley and rosemary)
Salt and pepper to taste

Sautée the onions & garlic for 5 min until just soft, put the beans, onion, garlic, stock and bouquet garni in a slow cooker for 6-8 hours or until all the beans are tender, season with salt and pepper in the last 10 min or cooking. Discard the onion, garlic & bouquet garni. Enjoy!

I have never rolled on concrete before (except in my stroller). It looks FUN!

  2. Scooby, Shaggy & Scout Says:

We should send Shaggy over to run those steps. Good for weight loss & exercise.

Now I know why I couldn’t get on your site. I kept putting an A in front of divakitty. You have done a terrific job with this site.

Sophia, Casper says it looks great doing your roll on the concrete, but he also says he prefers the dirt. I don’t enjoy the dirt cause I have to clean him off before he comes in.

Looks like you could put the onion in the dirt and it will grow. Your pictures of cooking look yummm.

Sophia, you like rolling on your back, too? If you also like tummy rubs and chicken baby food, I may ask you to marry me! :-)

Rolling in the dirt is best (IMHO) but I’ll roll on concrete if that’s all that’s available.
