Ask Fiona: Are Tree Skirts Alien Life Forms? 3-January-2007
Dear Fi,
My sister is attacking our tree skirt saying it is an alien and must die – are tree skirts really aliens?
BunBoy in need of clarification
Dear Bun,
Tree skirts are an alien life form that invade the house every winter. They must be killed. Here I demonstrate the art of pouncing on the alien.
Once properly pounced, you must attempt to dig to China through the offending tree skirt
Ahhhhh, conquest is mine!

And I know that was you Orlando… BunBoy…

DKM Nosh
Vegan Stroganoff (inspired by meatless meatballs stroganoff recipe in the Jan Vegetarian Times)
Olive Oil
1 medium onion
1 package sliced mushrooms
½ package Trader Joes Soy Meatballs
½ cup Dry Sherry (or if you do not have a dry sherry, white wine)
¼ Veggie Stock (or more as needed)
1 container of Vegan Sour Cream (I used Tofutti)
Cracked black pepper and salt
Eggless egg noodles
Sautée the onion in olive oil until soft (5-10 minutes). Add in sherry, mushrooms and meatballs – salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the sherry is absorbed. Turn to low. Add stock and sour cream. Cook until the sauce thickens & serve over noodles. I add cracked black pepper and thyme to the top of mine. Enjoy.

We love the killing of the tree skirt! You’re not just cute, you’re furry brave - DEATH TO THE TREE SKIRT!
Wow, Fi! You dug all the way to China and killed a tree skirt?! You’ve been busy!
Fiona and Orlando are up to no good under that tree. I love how rabbits always think they are so sneaky. For instance if Peaches is chewing on the table leg I’ll call her name and ask her to stop. A few seconds of silence and then she starts chewing again, only more quietly. LOL
Tigey knows just how bad tree skirts are. He peed on ours.
our Lady wants to know if you could e-mail her at kch917 AT sbcglobal DOT net and let her know your e-mail address because she seems to have lost it. she wants to e-mail you a picture of something that she would be glad to pay $$$ if you would be able to knit it as a gift for her sister. it’s not something you find every day. thank you!
You look furry, furry cute under that tree, Miss Bun. Hoppy 2007!
Thanks for the advice! Those are great pictures.
What a good bun you are slaying the beastly tree skirt! Protecting your household from aliens!
Mama, will adopt a bun for us?

Happy New Year!!!!
It’s a good thing your brother has you around to protect him, Fi. You showed that tree skirt a thing or two! Hrmph.
